Interview with In the beginning, Gavin was a magician known as the Mystic Satin and, Delia, you were his assistant. What type of magic tricks did you perform together? Were either of you ever hurt, set on fire, or sent to the emergency room; and what was your greatest feat? Gavin was sent to the emergency room, but under different circumstances. Delia's head got cut off. There were a lot of pyrotechnics. Gavin went through a 'lighting his hands on fire' phase. There were a lot of high-energy cabaret numbers. |
Soon after becoming friends and practicing sorcery, the two of you developed the heavy metal band, Fight Evil with Evil. What were your greatest hits? Did you ever record anything and was magic part of the show? Greatest Hits: "Fight Evil With Evil", "My Revenge is Your Revenge", "Pass the Bread", "The Sword is My Shepherd." |
You are both known to have an interest in Italian Horror. In your collaborative opinion, what is the greatest Italian horror film ever made? If you were an Italian horror filmmaker, who would be in it, what would it be called and what would it be about? Best Italian Horror Film: La casa dalle finestre che ridono (The house with the laughing windows) by Pupi Avati. If we directed an Italian Horror Film it would have Daria Nicolodi in it. It would be called "Daria Nicolodi" and it would be about Daria Nicolodi. |
There is an obvious shared interest in wizardry and the macabre. Do either of you believe in ghosts and have either of you had any supernatural experiences? Please explain if so. Yes, Yes (The Unexplained). How does your music on The Days of Mars relate to outer space... Not related to outer space. |
Why the title and what are you hoping the album will achieve? The title comes from Winifred Bryher's memoir of life in London during the second world war The Days of Mars. Mars is the god of war. If we like Delia Gonzalez and Gavin Russom, we'll love...? Blood on the wall. |
