Claudia
Rosa Lukas

Claudia Rosa Lukas launched her label soon after graduation from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna in 1997 under the guidance of Vivienne Westwood, Helmut Lang and J.C. de Castelbajac, where she was given the prize of the Ministry for Science and Transport.

Since 2001, she has participated regularly at the Prêt à Porter Fashion weeks in Paris, at Trade Shows in Italy and France and in own commercial showrooms.

Biography

Claudia Rosa Lukas gained high recognition as selected participant at several prestigious fashion competitions like the 17thFestival International de Arts de la Mode à Hyères in France in 2002 or the Enkamania Competition in Italy, including Franca Sozzani as a chairman. Recently invited to take part ,as one of 33 selected european Designers, at the EU Gateway to Japan project, a programme funded and managed by the European Commission, to introduce the latest continuously evolving European fashion trends to Japan.

In addition to her seasonal participation in Paris Fashion Week, Claudia Rosa Lukas also works in the fields of multimedia and costume design, what took her to the Vienna State Opera, where she made the

costumes in cooperation with the Viennese Architect Wilhelm Holzbauer.

In her collections she defines a unique style combining minimalism (functionality) and female sensuality. Because of this unique combination a wide variety of people can be reached. Each piece is special in it's own way. It is great for the everyday fast paced life style yet elegant enough to be worn for a night out in the town. Even though the products are of high quality.

From the choice of material and design, she always keeps in mind the overall durability of the final garment including Austrian and Italian fabrics like wool, fine knitting, jersey and cotton. The label on each garment and their packaging is a guarantee

of the designer's authenticity. Claudia Rosa Lukas always takes art and image highly into consideration when creating her collections, inspired by different cultures and historical views.

This corresponds with publications in magazines like i-D/UK, Oyster/AUS, SHOWstudio/UK, Jalouse/F Tigermagazine/JAP and Vogue/DE and exibitions in Kuenstlerhaus, MAK/ Vienna and MAK Center in Los Angeles as well as a collaborative Fashion show at the Austrian EXPO 2005 Pavillion in Nagoya, Aichi.

Claudia Rosa Lukas lives and works in Vienna, Austria.
