Tim Richardson Punk Rock embodies a carnal way of life. Its an organic and intuitive strategy of rejecting society's norms and expectations, freely accessible but perfected by few. Whether elegantly detached or ferociously direct, rock performers become there own visual language of style, gesture and sexual allure. They represent a somatic system fashioned from strained lyrics and coarse beats, bruised and elegant bodies, strange and beautiful faces. |
These are the figures of Interzone. We look to them in our daydreams, these creatures of a parallel world. Like us but unlike us, they reflect our desires back to us with those stilled mirror faces, those pale glowing bodies. They form an insolent myth, our myth: ciphers of the spirit, perhaps. Interzone is a shaft of light, a space of play, a word of insight, a night of love. We need a place like this, people like this, always have, always will. |
